What this site is
Kesea Hair Guide is a small editorial project about hairdressing in Manchester and Greater Manchester. We read up on areas, walk the high streets, and write plainly about what we find.
We're readers and writers, not stylists — which we think actually helps. We notice the things you notice when you're choosing somewhere new.
What we cover
The guides are organised by place, because that's how people search for a haircut. So far we've written about:
- City-centre salons and what to expect in the Northern Quarter
- Didsbury, Chorlton and Sale, where the high-street salons cluster
- Salford and MediaCityUK
- The bigger towns — Stockport, Bolton, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Wigan
- Altrincham's slightly more upmarket end of things
How we write it
Answer first, then the detail. We try to be honest about price and pace, and we don't pretend every salon in a given town is the same — they aren't. Where an area has a real character to it, we say so.
We don't take payment from salons to be mentioned, and we keep the writing as we'd want to read it: short, specific, no padding.
